The Best Way To Blend Collagen Without Clumping

What’s the best way to blend your collagen protein without it getting clumpy? First I’ll start with the item I recently purchased to mix my multi-collagen protein that’s been a long time coming.

It’s taken way too long for me to replace the last shaker bottle I had. But, I’m happy I did! I tell you, the little things I get excited about.

I LOVE this bottle!

It’s the Blender Bottle Pro Series 28 oz steel shaker cup with a wide mouth and flip-top lid. I chose the pebble gray color, which I think looks really nice.

IMPORTANT TIPS WHEN BUYING A BLENDER BOTTLE

The material is high-quality BPA and phthalate-free. The bottle is designed in such a way that makes it easy to clean, stain resistant, and prevents bad odor.

These are all very important elements to consider when picking a shaker bottle that you plan to keep as part of your everyday routine, in my opinion anyway.

If you’re going to use it every day, it’s nice knowing it doesn’t have any hard-to-reach spots when you’re washing it, that eventually turn into mold. Or leaves a foul smell lingering in your cup.

Also, after continuous use, cups tend to become cloudy. So it’s nice to know the color will stay looking at least close to new overtime without being altered by your drink.

THE BLENDER BALL WIRE WHISK PREVENTS CLUMPING

Now, the patented Blender Ball wire whisk is definitely an equally essential reason I wanted the Blender Bottle in the first place.

The Blender Ball wire whisk is the actual spotlight here, so to speak. This little feature is what does the job of mixing all the components of your drink together harmoniously.

I often use powders, such as collagen protein, superfoods, and matcha. Lately, I’ve been more and more unimpressed with how lumpy my drinks have been without using a shaker bottle.

Sometimes it can be the littlest thing that makes such a huge difference in your everyday routine. Like, having a blender bottle to mix your protein shakes or meal replacement drinks.

If you’re not going to use an electric blender to mix these drinks then a shaker cup like the Blender Bottle Pro is an absolute must.

Your drinks will be clumpy and may not taste as good if you mix them only using a spoon.

That’s exactly how my drinks were turning out. Some of my multi-collagen protein would get stuck to the bottom of my cup and my spoon.

All you have to do with the Blender Bottle is place your liquid of choice and collagen protein into the bottle, make sure the lid is on and closed, and give it several shakes until all contents are blended together evenly.

The wire whisk ball is what really helps to break up the powder and evenly disperse and dissolve it throughout your cup. Leaving you with a smooth clump-free collagen protein drink.

SHOULD YOU BUY A BLENDER?

If you’re looking for a more affordable option a blender bottle will be your best choice. It’s likely cheaper than the common household blender, although there are some blenders that cost very little.

The average blender will probably work just fine but many of the blenders sold in stores don’t withstand long-term use. They won’t last as long as a commercial grade blender if used every day or multiple times a day.

And I’m assuming if you take collagen protein, protein powders, or some other type of superfood blend, you’re drinking these regularly throughout the week.

If you’re going to blend often, it might be best to go with a high-powered blender as opposed to a standard blender.

Also, if you want to increase the nutrient density of your collagen protein by mixing it with fruits and vegetables then you’ll need to purchase a blender.

If this is a drink you plan to have occasionally or less often then a standard blender will do just fine.

As mentioned, keep in mind if you plan to make these drinks as part of your daily routine, a professional blender is best.

WHAT ARE THE BEST PROFESSIONAL BLENDERS FOR COLLAGEN PROTEIN?

When I started making smoothies on a regular basis, I purchased Vitamix CIA Professional Series Blender. I bought it from Bed Bath and Beyond years ago and I think it was a limited edition because every place I checked online is out of stock.

However, the Vitamix 5200 blender is very similar to the CIA version and you can still buy it at many stores off and online. It’s a professional-grade blender with a motor powerful enough to smoothly blend things the common household blender won’t.

I made the mistake of leaving the base of my Vitamix on the floor while moving some things around in the kitchen.

As a result, my kids damaged the speed control knob with their little feet. 🙁

But, instead of replacing the knob, I decided I want to upgrade to a newer model.

Why?

I really like the new sleek design of the Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series. This design comes with touch screen controls, settings that allow you to walk away safely without ruining your food, and a built-in timer that turns the machine off automatically when your recipe is done.

Whereas, the older (Vitamix 5200 Series) has 3 features — a pulse component, variable speed control, and an on/off switch.

Don’t get me wrong, the older design has a robust motor and blades to last many years. And you can essentially prepare the same dishes with it — from smoothies to soups, to frozen desserts, to nut butters, and so much more.

AND, Vitamix recently came out with a new food processor attachment. The blender and food processor work with the same motor base. Just replace the blender head attachment with the food processor attachment.

They also have Stainless Steel Containers!

WHAT ARE VACUUM BLENDERS AND ARE THEY THE BEST OVERALL?

Vacuum blenders aren’t talked about that often yet, but I believe they may revolutionize the way we blend fruits and vegetables in the kitchen.

Vacuum blenders usually come with a vacuum attachment to suck the extra oxygen out of the carafe or container before blending.

When fruits and vegetables are cut they begin to oxidate. In the same way, once you begin blending fruits and vegetables, oxidation occurs and nutrient levels begin to decrease.

Some vitamins and polyphenols are more sensitive to oxygen. Vacuum blending greatly reduces the damage caused to these nutrients by their exposure to oxygen.

There have been scientific studies showing vacuum blending retains 2 to 3 times more of certain polyphenol and other antioxidant vitamins.

Fats don’t go rancid as quickly because you’re not introducing and injecting air into your blended mixture.

Scientific studies have also shown vacuum blended mixtures will maintain higher levels of antioxidant capacity over an extended period of time. This is very crucial if you want to blend a large amount of drink and save it for later.

Many people report that they experience a lot less gas and bloating compared to using other blenders. Vacuum blenders retain more of the food’s natural color, which results in better flavor retention, and fewer air bubbles.

Blendtec had a vacuum blender that they discontinued and I’m not sure if Vitamix plans to release their own vacuum blender at some point.

The best vacuum blender that I can recommend as of now is the Trybest Dynapro Commercially Certified Blender With Vacuum. It’s a high-speed blender with a 2.5 peak horsepower motor at over 32,000 RPM.

These blades are actually sharp and in comparison to Vitamix. Do not touch the blades if you purchase Trybest Dynapro!

IN SUMMARY, YOUR BEST OPTIONS FOR NON-CLUMPY COLLAGEN PROTEIN

The Shaker Bottle is probably your best option if you are looking for affordability and you only plan to blend your protein powder with water or another liquid.

If you want to blend your collagen protein with fruits or vegetables on a daily basis then a professional blender like a Vitamix would be your best choice.

But, if you’re looking to maximize your nutrient levels you’ll likely want to go with Trybest Dynapro Commercially Certified Vacuum Blender.
